Create and Manage Sites

This guide covers how to create new sites and manage existing ones in Turfpal.

Creating a New Site

Accessing the New Site Form

  1. Navigate to the "Sites" section under "Settings" in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the "+ New site" button in the top left corner to open the New Site form.

Filling Out the Form

The New Site form is divided into several tabs:

Identification Tab

  1. Active: Toggle this switch on if you want the site to be immediately active. (Enabled by default)
  2. Site name: Enter the name of your site.
  3. External id: Provide an external identifier if applicable.
  4. Type: Select the type of site from the dropdown menu.
  5. Upload images: Click "Select file" to upload images of the site.
  6. Description: Provide a detailed description of the site.
  7. Director: Select or enter the name of the site director.
  8. Head groundskeeper: Select or enter the name of the head groundskeeper.
  9. Main venue: If this is a sub-site, select the main venue it belongs to.

Address Tab

  1. Street, Street 2, Street 3: Enter the full address details.
  2. Latitude and Longitude: Enter the coordinates of the site.
  3. Postal code: Enter the postal or zip code.
  4. City: Enter the city name.
  5. Country: Select the country from the dropdown menu.

Technical Specification Tab

This tab includes several sections:

  • Pitch Construction: Year of installation, contractor, method, turf type, dimensions, etc.
  • Grass Species: Details about grass types used.
  • Pitch Profile: Information about the pitch layers and composition.
  • Pitch Environment: Description of the surrounding environment.
  • Drainage System: Type, spacing, additional features like under-soil heating.
  • Irrigation System: Type, number of sprinklers, manufacturer, pressure, flow rate, etc.

Remember to upload relevant images throughout the form for comprehensive documentation.

Saving the New Site

Click the "Save" button at the top of the form to create the new site.

Managing Existing Sites

Accessing Site Management

  1. Go to the "Sites" section under "Settings".
  2. You'll see a list of all existing sites.

Editing a Site

  1. Click on a site's name in the list to open its profile.
  2. Navigate through the tabs to make necessary changes.
  3. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Deactivating a Site

  1. Open the site's profile.
  2. Toggle the "Active" switch to off in the Identification tab.
  3. Click "Save" to deactivate the site.

Updating Technical Specifications

  1. In the site's profile, go to the Technical Specification tab.
  2. Update any changed information about pitch construction, drainage, irrigation, etc.
  3. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Managing Site Access

  1. In the site's profile, locate the Access tab (if available).
  2. Adjust team or user access permissions as needed.
  3. Save the changes.

Best Practices

  1. Regularly review and update site information, especially after renovations or changes to equipment.
  2. Ensure all measurements and technical specifications are accurate, as they affect system calculations and recommendations.
  3. Use clear, descriptive names for sites to facilitate easy management.
  4. Keep photographic documentation up-to-date by regularly uploading new images.
